Sons of Zadok Gary Lindberg 9780984856596 Books

A very good sequel to "The Shekinah Legacy." Written in the style of historical fiction, Gary Lindberg successfully continues Charlotte Ansari’s journey into a secret organization that, seemingly, can infiltrate anywhere. Charlotte’s world-wide recognition as an international television reporter keeps her in the limelight, making clandestine necessities more than difficult. She’s driven by emotion, contempt for her father, an ordained priest-turned married historian with whom she’s destined to work, and depression over the loss of her only son to the Sicari sect, an underground network of operatives-for-hire that originated in the biblical history. If that’s not enough, there’s her mother, the co-leader of the sect and the woman who abandoned her at an early age, and romantic tension with one who started out as her protector, now turned into her assassin, who we ultimately learn is “closely” related to her. Lots of twists and turns in the story, mostly successful in keeping me on my toes and waiting for the next morsel of truth. It was a page turner for me, sometimes over the top, but still difficult to put down at the end of the day. As I enjoy reading books in series, I look forward to Gary Lindberg’s next installment. I wonder what Charlotte will be facing next.

Sons of Zadok Gary Lindberg 9780984856596 Books Reviews

I really wanted to like this book but I was working more trying to like it than it was doing trying to keep me interested. The plot and history behind the storyline which why I gave it three stars was somewhat good and intriguing but the actions and scenarios of the characters involved really made the story unstimulating and with that the story just fell totally flat.
like a mini "James Bond movie in my imagination"!. Gary Lindberg has done it again, once more our family is in danger and must travel around the world to try to save themselves. A thought provoking thriller, cannot put down book. Religious and historical tidbits thrown at you, as you try to uncover who are the good guys and who are the bad guys?. Very intriguing, must use your brain to keep up with this one.I am almost to the end of book and cannot wait to see what happens!. I think this is a brilliant series and deserves the best of phrase. Good for anyone who wants to be challenged. A+!!
All I can say is WOW!
There is a wealth of historical information wrapped around a thrilling, mind provoking, action- charged, espionage story. The characters are well drawn out and you are torn between whether you should hate or love the villains WAIT! Who exactly are the villains? Either way, you are totally caught up in the struggle! There were a couple of " I can't believe that just happen! " spots where I had to either read on when I meant to stop, or put the book down and regroup myself. Without giving anything away, I have to say, having never read the first book Shelinah Legacy, I also didn't miss it as this book does stand alone as a complete story.
This very, very well researched book begins this theory 2000 years ago with the mass suicide at Masada and follows the theory through to the present day. The premis is the preservation into perpituity of the pure lineage of Zadoc, the first high priest of the Sicari. This secret society suposedly controls main events throughout history. The society is headed by a pure blooded Sicari woman named "Eve". Each "Eve" is also a trained assassin. She begins her life and youth as a regular person, named whatever her parents wish; but, her lineage is carefully planned by one means or another.I must say that, for me, this was a thrilling page turner. The story haunted me for days after...an excellent read!!!
I will admit that I wasn't sure about this book when I began it. Being the second book and not having read the first, The Sheckinah Legacy, I wasn't sure if I would be able to follow what was going on.
Warning! Spoiler alert!
The book would definitely benefit someone who could sit down and read the whole thing in one shot due to the massive number of characters within coupled with the Rubik 's Cube-like lineage jigsaw puzzle. Every time I put the book down and then picked it up a day or so later I had to remember who was whose daughter, son, grandmother, grandfather, etc. I guess if I had anything bad to say about the book then that would be it.
I did wince when it was revealed that the main character, Charlotte Ansari, had fallen in love with a man (and shared a romantic kiss) who turned out to be her half brother! Although I suppose if you believe that we are all descendents of a single man and woman then I guess we're all practicing some form of incest. The revelation was still strange and kind of awkward.
There is no shortage of action but having the army of characters constantly escape death by a hair grows old after the first half dozen times.
All in all, though, a great read! Very sophisticated and sometimes confusing but I would recommend it!
The main plot of this book utilizes the mysteries of the Sicarii who held out against the Romans at Masada, the mysteries of "The Book of Enoch," plus Biblical quotations and quantum physics to make not only a great main plot but also to tie several subplots together. Other authors are utilizing the same writing tools today. I have "The Book of Enoch," "The Book of Jubilee," and "The Book of Jasher," of which there were several copies with the Dead Sea Scrolls, which confirmed that these were used extensively by the Jews of those times. In fact, the "Enoch" and "Jubilee" books really sound like they are dealing with extra-terrestrials and are fascinating to read on their own.

The author has many colorful characters involved, yet handles his flashbacks and plot extensions well. There are a couple of surprising events that are unexpected and the only criticism I have of the book is the last two or three pages, which I assume is because it may be a cliff hanger. I think that all readers who enjoy thrillers, mysteries and great use of the imagination when converting facts into fiction will truly enjoy this. I did and I recommend it.
